How To: Submit Your Pieces For Appraisal
Follow our guide to know exactly the information we will require to assist you to our best capacity.
Take clear photographs.
Using a smartphone or digital camera, take clear images of the piece(s) you would like us to look at.
Take multiple photographs to show us different angles. Be sure to include any areas of note or of damage so that we can assess the piece properly.
Measure the height, width and length of your piece.
Be sure to include the size of your piece in inches so that we can contextualize it.
If your piece is a map, stamp, or anything on paper, simply provide the height and width.
Gather any receipts, documents or provenance.
If you have receipts, certificates or any other documents, scan and include them with your images.
Send us an appraisal request.
Once you have gathered all of your information and have taken your photographs, use the forms below to contact us for an appraisal or an auction estimate.
Written Appraisals
Hall’s Auction Services Ltd. provides formal written appraisals service for the purposes of estate planning, insurance, charitable donations, open market, probate, and matrimonial division.
To begin, please fill out our online form and provide us with the basic information of your pieces, and include any photographs you have of the pieces using the file uploader.
An existing inventory of your collection, any original sale receipts or other information you may have about the property is helpful in keeping your costs to a minimum. Once we have all of the details on your collection, a time can be established in which the appraisal can be completed, as well as an estimate of the costs that will be incurred.
Appraisal fees are based on an hourly rate.
