The Traditional Sale: Feature

Our November Traditional Sale features this very special scale model stage coach, entirely handcrafted by Saskatchewan artist Stan Wychopen (1941-2009).

There are over 2000 moving parts on this coach, and all of them are operational, from the gold plated door latches to the gorgeous silk curtains hanging in the interior. Wychopen was truly one of the world’s finest crafters of model stagecoaches, and this is one of only five Q20 Wychopen stagecoaches that were ever produced. One is in the collection of the Royal Alberta Museum, and in 1977, Prince Phillip was presented his own model while visiting Regina for the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth.

A true collector’s item, the whole coach is contained within a glass and mahogany display case, and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity dated 14-Oct-1981.
